Since its inception in 1983 Christchurch Small Business Enterprise Centre has been a specialist provider of employment related services to disadvantaged individuals and communities.
Our major current programmes are:
Employment Coaching
A contract with Work and Income to provide a Employment Coaching service which aims to assist disadvantaged people on benefits such as Unemployment Benefit, Domestic Purposes Benefit, Sickness Benefit and Invalids Benefits to obtain employment.
The programme has three elements:
- Initial assessment and active support of individuals with their job searching, job search mentoring, help with writing cover letters, adapting CVs for specific job applications, telephone techniques and interview coaching.
- Active help with your job search by approaching employers for placement and work experience.
- In work support for clients to assist them with employment related issues, job orientation and facilitation of any problems arising in employment.
Migrants Employment Assistance
As part of the contract with Work and Income to assist migrants become self employed or investigate business opportunities in New Zealand we provide assistance to those migrants who elect to not purse their business ideas but look for employment.
